I earned nearly 12,000 AAdvantage miles in 2017 using the AAdvantage eShopping portal.
If you actively collect travel points and miles, you want to leave no stone unturned when looking for ways to earn these rewards. Credit card signup bonuses are the absolute best way to quickly grow your balances, however, though not as lucrative, making as many of your purchases as possible through online shopping portals is another good method. One of the portals I frequently use is the American Airlines AAdvantage eShopping site. By starting online shopping "trips" there, I earned 11,827 miles last year on purchases I would have made anyway. This works not only for merchandise but also travel such as hotel reservations. Despite ordering online, I was able to earn points and have some of my items the same day by using online order pickup at a local store such as Home Depot.

Since setting up my AAdvantage eShopping account in 2015, I have earned over 27,000 miles this way! That's enough miles for a free economy round-trip ticket within the lower 48 states or to Central America. It's also enough for a one-way reward flight to Hawaii or South America. All for buying things I would have bought anyway!
Online shopping portals are a no-brainer for accumlating points and miles. Your options are not limited to American Airlines or even airlines in general. See my earlier post that explains how to find and use these shopping sites!
